Achievements

• In August 2009, only seven of the twenty-eight students in our classroom were reading at or above grade level. By December 2009, all of our students were reading at or above grade level.

• Since October 2009, students in the MC have read more than 700 books outside the classroom. This averages to approximately 30 books per child in five months!

• Model Classroom students are involved in a "Math Whiz Kids" competition to improve fluency and skills in math facts. Since it's inception, student in this program have improved their math recall skills by 40% or more on average.

• Professional development provided by the Model Classroom has addressed 101 of the Grade Level Expectations in all 8 standards areas for grades K-4 in the area of English/ Language Arts. This number translates to the face that we have addressed 89% of all ELA Standards for grades K-4.
